OVERVIEW
Super Ick Cure powder by API® treats “Ich,” or white spot disease in fish, along with other highly contagious parasitic diseases. The Ich parasite has a multi-staged life cycle, and is invisible in the early stages when it burrows into gill and skin tissue, causing severe electrolyte loss and gill damage in addition to promoting secondary bacterial and/or fungal infections.
Early symptoms of this infection include fish darting around in the aquarium, scratching against gravel or ornaments, labored breathing, or remaining near the water’s surface or near filters or aeration devices. White spots may not always be visible on fish. SUPER ICK CURE usually kills the Ich parasite within 24 hours, and is safe for use in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Caution: Some scaleless fish are sensitive to this medication, therefore it is recommended to treat using half the regular dose. Some saltwater invertebrates, including corals, may be sensitive to this product, therefore it is not recommended for treating reef aquariums. Using a small "hospital" tank for treating fish can be a useful alternative.
Note: This medication will discolor water and may stain sealant and ornaments. Use activated carbon 48 hours after final treatment to remove color from water.
DIRECTIONS
For each 10 gallons of water, empty one packet directly into aquarium. Repeat dose after 48 hours. Wait another 48 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water and add fresh activated carbon or replace filter cartridge.
SIZE: 10 powder packets in package. Each package treats 100 gallons. Two doses required for full course of treatment.
