OVERVIEW
General Cure powder by API® treats a wide variety of parasitic diseases including velvet, fish lice, hole-in-the-head disease (Hexamita spp. & Spironucleus), gill & skin flukes (Dactylogyrus & Gyrodactylus ). For use in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Note: This medication will not cause discoloration of aquarium water.
Gill and Skin Flukes : Very common fish parasite not visible without magnification. Parasites will be on gills, skin and scales. Symptoms include dark skin, clamped fins, excess mucous, and erratic swimming. Fish may become emaciated.
Hole-in-the-Head: Pitting and erosion of skin and muscle tissue around face and on body. Infected fish my exhibit poor appetite, weight loss and nervousness.
Wasting Disease: Parasites cause emaciation, anemia and lethargy. Tissue damage leads to ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract. Excess mucus and white stringy feces may be produced from parasitic invasion.
Swollen Abdomen: Tapeworms (cestodes) will cause a swollen abdomen and internal damaged tissue.
DIRECTIONS
For each 10 gallons of water, empty one packet directly into aquarium. Repeat dose after 48 hours. Wait another 48 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water and add fresh activated carbon or replace filter cartridge.
SIZE: 10 powder packets in package. Each package treats 100 gallons. Two doses required for full course of treatment.
