Denitrate Media by Seachem
Denitrate media removes nitrates, nitrites, ammonia and organics from freshwater and saltwater tanks. The high porosity of this media supports the proliferation of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria that will remove these toxic aquarium byproducts. Denitrate media continues to be an excellent support for biological filtration even when exhausted as an organic absorbent, and therefore does not have to be removed from the aquarium. It should be replaced when exhausted if nitrates begin to rise again.
Directions: Rinse product before use to remove dust. Media should be placed where the water flows through it at a maximum of 50 gallons per hour for best results. Nitrate concentrations should begin to fall after a few days. As long as nitrates are under control, the product is not exhausted. Each liter of product treats 50 to 100 gallons, depending on biological load.
